Tourism Religious
The earliest church in Moniatis is at Mesa Potamos, where the mediaeval monastery of Timiou Prodromou was founded in 1468. The Department of Antiquities has lately conserved a second church devoted to Archangel Michael with its distinctive Crucifixion from the 18th century, while the village’s main church is dedicated to Panagia Odigetria. The Community’s two chapels are dedicated to the Prophet Elias and the Source of Life.
